A sounding rocket is a rocket, usually solid-fuel, designed to take measurements and perform scientific experiments during its sub-orbital flight. The rockets are used to carry instruments from 50 to 1500[km] above the surface of the Earth, the altitude generally between weather balloons and satellites.

In particular the rocket aerodynamic design and its propulsion system design (solid and liquid) were the duties carried out for many confidential projects.
